Fish for smallmouth and largemouth bass, salmon, splake, brook trout, brown trout, perch and pickerel. Enjoy a hot bowl of homemade fish chowder while experiencing a traditional Maine outdoor winter activity. Feel free to bring along skates, sleds or cross country skis (conditions permitting). We can usually expect to see a fisherman or two stopping by to see how they are biting.

Fat Bass Tours offers ice fishing trips on Highland Lake in Windham Maine. Only 15 minutes from Portland. We can also arrange trips on several different lakes and ponds in the area.
Although we have a warm shanty to retreat to, you should dress as if you were spending the day outdoors. We regret that we cannot provide clothing, but Fat Bass Tours keeps a close eye on the weather and will assist in any clothing or gear selection.
We use Polar tip-ups and traditional ice fishing traps. The use of live shiners and tommycod work well for all the species we fish for. Jigging artificial lures is also quite productive.
All of the above is included in your trip. We practice and strongly urge catch and release.
Licenses, (available locally), are required for every angler 16 years and older. Year 2000 Maine open water fishing licenses apply to all ice fishing also.
The state of Maine offers two days a year free fishing, (no license required), these days are the Saturday and Sunday preceding Presidents' Day. Please E-mail or phone us for more details and available dates.
Please be aware of Maine's changing weather conditions and dress accordingly.
